Default '98 Civic OEM Spark Plug Wire Set Part Number

Hey guys, just wondering what the OEM spark plug wire set part number was? I'm seeing there a Sumitomo and a Nichiwa Kiki but I'm not sure which one to order. I'm looking for the exact replacement because the wires that are in my car now is beginning to crack and I look at the year it was made... 1997... so I think it might be time to replace them haha.

32722-P2A-J01 005 001 WIRE, IGNITION (NICHIWA KIKI) 86.58 60.61

or

32722-P2A-003 005 001 WIRE, IGNITION (SUMITOMO) 86.58 60.61

Thanks! :D

Either, they are both oem. I used sumitomo set before I got the ngk wires.

But I have to ask...you`ve had those same wires in the car for over 15 years??

Yep, same exact wires haha. Car has 159,600 miles on it now. It's a Honda! why wouldn't it run on 15 year old spark plug wires?

As long as you take care of them, they will last forever...Example, my EJ1 is 18 years old, doesn`t burn oil, and has no knocks....I have changed the oil every 3k miles, changed the wires, cap, plugs, and rotor every 15k and the original D16Z6 has well over 300K on it, even though the odomete says 217K lol, but still runs perfect.

Get this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/96-97-98-HON...08c903&vxp=mtr

It's cheaper then buying all 4 OEM wires, and you get much more!

Or go to advanced and get some NGK`s...no waiting for them to be shipped.

You've got to be kiding me. You would rather spend ~$70 on JUST plug wires, then a bit more and get OEM plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil filter?

Wait a week and you'll be better off

Back on topic...

OP, you can go with either Sumitomo or Nichiwa Kiki. Both being Japenese and your Honda will appreciate it lol.

My car is a priority for me to take care of. I take it to a shop to get the oil change, sure they're a bit more expensive than other shops around but they use Castrol GTX oil, an Acdelco filter, lubricate the suspension, steering rack, check the car for any issues, check the battery, check and see if everything is functional and if there's anything wrong with it, they'll honestly tell me and not try to rip me off and I do it. They have been servicing the car for 12 years now and there are no weird noises, rattles, smells, anything. Runs better than any new Hyundai, Kia, GM products (Chevy, Buick, GMC, etc.), Chrysler, Ford in a dealership parking lot. I'm thinking about giving the engine bay another wash and changing out the MTF with Honda MTF fluid. The reason why I havent bothered with the spark plug wires is because they are working just fine and still give a good current but I feel like it's just time...

Check the link I posted.

if the wires are that old I can almost promise you nothing else has been touched.

also consider a fuel filter.

At 150,000 miles, I replaced the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, coolant, oil, oil filter, and ran Seafoam through the car.

At 156,000 miles, I got a new cabin air filter (car didn't have AC so I pulled an evaporator box out of a 97-01 CRV and now I have one!), new engine air filter (Honda which Fram makes for them) Air conditioning unit (Compressor, condenser, hoses, lines, etc.) which I still need to charge up for next summer, new DieHard battery and also put on new heat shields to replace the old rusty ones that were rattling.

At 158,500 miles, I had my mechanic put on a new alternator, AC compressor, and power steering belt with Bando belts. I believe it's what came with the car.

Now It has 159,700 miles and the next thing on my list is to get the oil changed at 160,800 miles.

I've had this car a little over a year and I think it runs better every day! It still gets 48 mpg on the highway! :D I love my HX! :D

Yeah lol. My little project car is pretty much done as soon as I get the AC charged up and the spark plug wires replaced :D Might do some body work in the future to get rid of some dents on the body.
