98 civic LX overheating issues ( Different from others )
Quick information had a blown gasket been repaired and water pump replaced.
My car tends to overheat only when I floor it and when I pull over to look in my hood coolant is everywhere but I did a full coolant drain twice put in new clamps, And yes there is still coolant inside my tank still does anyone have a clue why? May I need a new radiator?
Any tips or information would be very helpful!
I HATE OVERHEATING!

Bad head gasket installation?
Did you replace the thermostat and bleed the cooling system?

only over heating when pushed ?!?!
sounds like a weaping head gasket
Reason: only under higher pressure it will leak combustion pressure into the water jacket
and this then causes coolant to be pushed out of the system
also causing nucleus boiling within the head as pockets of air become super heated steam..
Diagnose: look at the coolant are there signs of carbon or discoloration in the coolant
are there any other contaminates in the coolant such as oil , does it smell like exhaust fumes or fuel
Fix: replace head gasket after resurfacing the head and checking the block deck for flat
you coud also apply copper coat to the head gasket to assist in sealing fine imperfections

If you just had it done by a mech take it back there should be some sort of warranty
I know some mechanics are lazy and just slap in a new head gasket torque it down a bit tighter and call it good but ...
if there has been a fault in the head or block due to the blown head gasket , a new head gasket will not fix it

not so much blown.. but cause can come from small imperfections in the head or block surface normaly removed with refacing

Honestly what's the best way to fix this, if it doesn't got with a warranty?
& would a gasket seal fix this or it's a harder job?

Just bought a thermostat and will install that on Sunday so hopefully it isn't the gasket

basically it is a spray when the headgasket is done.
What shop did the work? Was it a guy in a garage in a house you paid some money or a real shop?
A real shop will have a warranty on the work. You have to know what you are doing, you need to have the head sent out and checked most like resurfaced. then you need to know the proper torque specs etc.

clean off the motor from all grime and crap, check the fluid in the radiator and overflow, check the oil, make sure all is normal, let warm up to operating temps and drive normally for 10-15 miles and pull over and check again. If all is good go on the highway and slammed the gas pedla down (please be somewhere where you wont kill yourself or others) pull over ASAP. check again. see if you can visually see where it is leaking from, just dont go throwing parts at a problem just cause,
or find a coolant pressure gauge, pump up the system and check for leaks (pinhole some where, cracked something) i reccomend this before you get a speeding ticket for flying down the highway.. just my 2 cents. also did you let all the air bubbles get out the system when you changed?

Ps: scared to go far places untill fix this problem overheating sucks!
And I don't get how a leak can cause overheating, specially when I still have fluids and oil all around

Question
If I replace my gasket seal would it fix my "weeping" issue?
Because I have a new head gasket which only been like 2months

Alright guys I'm going to diagnose my car tomorrow & replace thermostat, If it leads to a warping gasket or weeping internal leak I'm going to use a fluid called BLUE DEVIL which suppose to fix a minor gasket issue and I heard reviews saying it works perfect so I'll keep you guys updated !

Those types of products do more harm than good. The companies that sell these products prey on consumers who are hoping to find a quick inexpensive fix. In the end, there's no such thing as a quick cheap fix. Do the repair right the first time.

Ok updated!
Changed my thermostat but my car still gets hot my heat meter would idle up n down from normal to mid hot and back to normal and repeats and I'm still getting coolant inside my engine also the tubing into my water tank would blow bubbles, I still have fluids all around
As anyone had this problem when the heat meter goes from normal to mid hot and repeats?
Any input would help!
