98 Civic LX -- need body roll help
Is there any thing that really helps with this? I know on my Tiburon I put a bigger sway bar and drop springs and now it turns on a axis not any roll at all

Re: body roll help
Rear sway bar, lowering springs/coilovers with pretty good spring rates.
Bushings can help a little.
Don't forget tires! All this is worthless without some good sticky tires.

Reduce any weight you can sacrifice. Heavy audio equipment, etc. Get some sportier springs and shocks (don't go overboard, too stiff makes it uncomfortable). And go from there.
A front sway bar will indeed reduce the leaning side to side, but it induces understeer. This is supposed to be safer according to the car manufacturer, but some people don't like it...me being among the many who don't. I suggest a traction bar because it reduces sway, but doesn't induce understeer, and it keeps the front end from lifting under acceleration.
After any suspension change such as shocks, get an alignment. If handling characteristics will be significantly different, take it easy while driving for a while and get used to how the car handles so if you have to avoid something while driving fast (like a separated retread from a semitruck tire on the interstate), you can without losing control.

Re: body roll help
Scrapping weight won't do anything for body roll either.
Simple formula:
Stiffer shocks/springs + swaybar.
Anti-sway bars are also known as anti-roll bars as well ya know.

Re: body roll help
That depends where you're removing the weight. If it's from higher up, then it will reduce body roll because you're reducing the roll couple. However, there isn't really a whole lot you can remove high up in these cars unless you have a sunroof.

Re: body roll help
Stickier tires MAY increase body roll.
What is the point of doing all the suspension work, and leaving crappy tires on the car?
Pouring money into your suspension to make the car handle better, and have less roll is pointless without a good set of tires on the car.

Re: body roll help
you can do so many things.
lowering it, with the right set-up.
Wider tires/rims
Strut bars (front/rear, lower/upper) (3 point for the engine bay bar)
Sway bars
Lower rear tie bar (connects between the LCAs)
Etc, etc..

Re: body roll help
Not everyone has a sunroof. That's about the only thing that's going to make a major impact on weight and is high enough to measurably cause issues.
It would be much more efficient to get a front and rear swaybar.

Re: body roll help
so on a 95 hatch. i have dropzone struts and eibach sleves... (i know dropzone isnt the best) BUT.... i recently picked up blox LCAs and a jdm itr 23mm rear sway bar... i need to save up to get a rear subframe brace. will this new addition of sway bar, lcas and a brace help with the massive amounts of body roll that i have??

250+ rear rates will mesh nicely.
Keep an eye on the bushings in the blox lcas, they're prone to wearing out in a matter of months.

Re: body roll help
The LCAs will do nothing to help body roll. Neither will the brace. But the swaybar will. Stiffer spring rates are going to have to play a part in your suspension setup too.

I know about the blox defects and the only other question i have is will i need a front sway bar or traction bars to really complete getting rid of body roll??

Honestly if you want to cheap out on LCAs for your EG get some oem integra LCAs for $60.

Re: body roll help
They essentially do the same thing as a sway bar, limiting movement. You just wont gain the under-steer associated with a front sway bar.
You couldn't have bought shittier LCA's.
Bushings suck, and the endlinks holes are not in the correct spot. That requires the use of adjustable endlinks, and still leaves them in funky angles!
You could have ran OEM EG or DC control arms. They have the correct geometry, and much better bushings.
I would be runing a front bar, even more so with that large of a rear bar. You can run both a front sway bar and traction bars.

Re: body roll help
a sway bar is a torsion spring linking the up and down (bound/rebound) movements of the left and right side... a traction bar is not this. a traction bar should only limit movement or deflection of the front LCAs in the front to back direction, otherwise it will bind. right?
