98 civic losing power
I have a few ideas of what this could be but would like other opinions incase i'm over looking something.
1998 Civic LX (auto)
173k mi.(timing belt/water pump replaced ~10k mi ago.) Car ran perfect untill...
Sat, after going over a set of dips, the rpm's dropped down to 1k and momentarily lost power, then went back to normal.
Today, driving down the street (no dips) same thing happens on and off for about a mile, then drives fine...
I checked for loose connections on the engine harness as well as loose grounds, and everything seemed ok...
I was thinking maybe the fuel filter is getting clogged since it started after going over a set of dips.
I also think it could be ignitor/coil going bad, or spark plug wires... I just changed the plugs when i did the oil change 3 weeks ago.
I have all the parts i mentioned on hand and I will be replacing tomorow morning but maybe someone has had this happen and it wasnt one of the parts i mentioned.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

If replacing the previously mentioned parts doesnt help, try wiggling different parts of the engine harness with the vehicle running at idle. If there is an intermittent short or an intermittent loose connection this may help you find it.

Attached is a picture of the actual "dips" i went over when this started. Basically its an intersection with dips...

Re: 98 civic losing power
update -
I only had time to change the spark plug wires and fuel filter this morning. Drove the car to work (50mi) and it seems to run much smoother and no problems.
I will post back here if there are any more issues...

No, it was 3/4 tank when it started on sat. and about 1/2 tank when it happened yesterday.
I never let my tank get below 1/4 if i can help it.
