Re: 98 civic headers
first, why do you want headers? If you're looking to make power, look elsewhere. You're not going to get much power from bolt-on parts. To make power you can actually feel on the road, you gotta go forced induction.

Header. Header. HEADER.
You have one header / exhaust manifold, not two. And yes, as SeanK325 said, you're not going to make any power with a d15 and bolt ons. You either go the boost route, or swap out your motor for a dualcam.

Re: 98 civic headers
sorry, good sir. However, I wasn't referring to the header on the car, but rather the different headers that are in the market. no biggie.

^I think he was still referring to OP.
Boost the car and just replace your mani with a turbo mani when you boost. A header is a waste of time and money.

lol...
back to original post! are we all in agreement that he should go with a turbo or swap the motor?
what's the most cost effective B motor? the si B16?
i heard bugatti makes a nice lil motor, but i don't think hasport makes mounts for it.

You aren't talking about the incredibly cost effective W16 are you? This is what the op should swap to. I'd say he should just boost. Much less hassle to deal with and he'll smoke the few stock SI's around town. He should do a Y8 mini me.

Re: 98 civic headers
with a turbo D, you'll eat a bunch of cars on the road. hell, just slap some sticky tires and pave the road. sounds like fun. plus, it's a D. If (or when) it blows, they're a dime-a-dozen on craigslist.

Exactly. Me and my friend were a little worried at first about doing a boost with my Y8 mini me passed 12, but what's the harm? If it blows, I'll buy another engine for a stick of gum.

Re: 98 civic headers
See every 96-00 CX/DX/LX (and HX but that's a different turd altogether) all came with an exhaust manifold that had the catalytic converter built into it, while the EX/Si had an an exhaust manifold, steel down pipe (A pipe) and then a separate converter that was more under the vehicle as opposed to being tight up against the engine like the CX/DX/LX had.
Also of consequence is that the CX/DX/LX has its two o2 sensors located within close proximity within the exhaust manifold/converter - the EX has one in the manifold, and one further under the car inside the tail end of the catalytic converter.
"All this tech crap, but what does it MEAN for me wanting a header?!?!"
It means that in order to run an actual aftermarket header intended for an EX you will need to buy the header, buy an EX type converter or test pipe, and be prepared to extend the oxygen sensor wiring so that both of them can be used and plugged in as they would be on an Ex model in the EX style locations.
Some visual aides:
96-00 CX/DX/LX style convertor/manifold unit - note the closeness of both o2 sensors:
Now an EX style manifold:
This pic shows the complete exhaust piping on the CX/DX/LX style (upper sectionof pic) and the EX style including converter (lower portion of pic) - note #27 is the secondary o2 sensor for the EX, and note how far back it is and how much different the wiring will need to be to make the EX stuff work on a non-EX model:
Hope this clears some stuff up for you.

You were mistaken, young one. I am, in fact, the Lord of English in this forum and others. Do not presume to my throne or I will have you broken.
Honestly though, OP, your vehicle's engine is not worth modifying. You can spend $1000+ for a good turbo/tune and run high 13's on good tires, or you can spend nothing and get 40mpg. Plus, if you stay stock, your car won't sound and smell like a gigantic fart!
Bonus.
