98 Civic having brake issues
have a 98 honda civic ex coupe.....ok so here is my problem when i go to mash on the break peddle it goes all the way to the floor despite what i have done to bleed them out.......i have replaced the master cylinder both from break calipers and the rear break cylinders new pads n shoes only thing thats not new is the rubber lines but anyways is it possable i bought a bad brand new master cylinder ......everything is ajusted right but even after bleeding 2 of the big bottles of break fluid thru i still have no peddle i have to pump my breaks every time i want to stop and even then i only get half a peddle when i pump it 3 or 4 times at a stop light .......no leaks anywhere...no leaks cant suck air if its not leaking.....anyways thats everything ive done is there any special trick to honda breaks i didnt check or do? if not probably going to re replace the master cylinder....

OP, it is spelled brake fyi.
Did you bench bleed the MC?
Are you bleeding them in the right order?
Right rear
Left Rear
Right Front
Left Front
I had an issue with my civic a few years ago, no matter how many times I would bleed the brakes, I still had a very mushy pedal. I solved that problem by using a c-clamp and depressing the piston all the way in on both front brakes, sometimes air can get trapped there. Worked for me.
Did you bench bleed the MC?

ive done everything except the mc thing and that last little bit.....was actually going to try doing that tomorrow with the little clear screw in plastic lines and im also going to try pressing in the calipers .....ive actually got the brake kit press....i can even do the special ones..that u gotta twist in lol but anyways im gunna try that and get back with ya sorry for the bad spelling btw

i will also try bleeding them in that order......as a rule of thumb ive always started from the front left front then right front to left rear ending at the rr .....also as a rule of thumb starting with the break that has the shortest line distance to the mc ending with the longest.....didnt really realize hondas had a special order to bleed brakes

whoever told you to start at the shortest was on some good crack. haha, It's always longest first. Honda has the LF and RR, and RF and LR together so if a break fails, or a line leak you can still have some brake to stop.

anyways to get back on this topic i had the brakes bleed the proper way and re adjusted the rear brakes e brake is tight at 3 clicks fully engaged at 6 clicks had rear drums lathed great brakes now i also double checked on alldata worth paying 35 dollars for a year subscription 2 its like all the Haynes manuals compacted into a website for all makes and models great for a quick reference
