98 Civic hatch -- Loose Shifter Feeling
So I just picked up a 98 Civic hatch as a daily driver but I noticed that the shifter has quite a bit of play in it. I figured it would just be shifter bushing or the shifter linkage but once I get the car to my house I'll take a better look. I was thinking about replacing these parts: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/south...ty14=1&qty16=1 #'s 4,5,11, and 23. Do you think those would make a difference or should I replace other parts?

Honda shifters always felt loose to me to begin with, plus the bushings do wear out over time... Get a set of Energy suspension shifter busings... Its one of the best cheap mods you can do... It will be better than new...

The PW:JDM shifter bushings that I installed on my car 2 years ago are still intact and feel the same stiffness as they were when I first installed them.

I did the ES bushings on my 99 ek and didn't quite do it. #23 in the linked pic is what made mine stiff as new when I replaced them, no slop at all! But, the ones I used deteriorated cuz the lube I used ate them up. Apparently you shouldn't use the lube that comes with the ES bushings on rubber o-rings. Oops!

I had them in my 2g dsm for about 5 years with no problems they helped out so much, threw them on my hatch a week after I got it. They make it feel like a completely different car.
