98 Civic hatch accelerator pedal/response question.
So it seems like the accelerator on my hatch is acting up. I need to step on the pedal hard to get some response from it, kind of like I am pressing the clutch pedal with a performance clutch. The Civic is a 98 DX automatic, now before you guys say "well it is an auto, they are slow", I had a 97 auto DX before and the throttle response was much better, softer pedal and all.
Are there any tips/tricks or things I should check to better my throttle response/pedal feel?

My first guess would be the adjustment on the cable at the bracket at the throttle body.
I'm lost as to anything else... I'm sure I can come up with something else when I'm not doped up on painkillers

My car has a kinda weird pedal feel too (96 hatch 5spd), like the first 1in or so of travel is kinda notchy, then the rest is smooth. Like u got to tap it hard to get it first moving. But its not the cable on the TB because I've switched TB's and its the same. Its not to bad to deal with though.

These type of questions are hard to answer becuase so many things can be wrong and people dont know how to explain it.
When you step on the gas does the pedal move down aways before the car reacts, if so how far does it go? Is it a sticky type feel? or is the pedal completely normal but when you press on it the car just doesnt go?
If its the problem with the travel then you should try adjusting the cable.
If its the sticky type take off your air filter and spray some cleaner into the throttle body and clean up all the junk thats in there and the spring.
If its the problem with the car just not going then try cleaning out your air filter and the throttle body.
