Default 98 Civic hatch/99 B16a2 swap/P2T obd2b ECU - won't start

Okay i picked up a ***** ek hatch that hasnt ran since it was swapped some one put a B16a2 out of a 99 si into it and what i would call a half *** wire tuck i ran through all the basics trying to get it to run. when i first got it, it did not come with injectors so i got some stock 99 si injectors. My main question that i cannot seem to find on google for some reason is, Does 99 si injectors need a resistor box? If so thats prolly my problem it will hit but not start almost like timing is wrong but im not new to the honda world the timing is on the money im getting spark and compression and fuel. Also the other issue i found is on the p2t ecu there is only two plugs there to plug into the ecu. the cabin harness from the si is missing idk what all thats for or if thats why its not running. any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance and btw this is in a 98 hatch

If the ECU isn't plugged in properly the car will not start. Some people pull the ECU every night for security reasons for that very purpose. It is impossible for all intents and purposes, to start a civic without an ECU.

The downside, however, is that over time you'll wear out the connection on the ECU. Similar to removing your radio faceplate every day. The brass connections just get worn out.

There should be three ECU plugs -- A (gray), B (gray), C (blue). One of your ECU connectors is not plugged in.

Okay i made this post but forsome reason cannot log back into that account. I was told the connector im missing is not pertinent to the car running that it wsa for the speed sensor and dash lights and what not and i believe it was bypassed some way when they did the wire tuck. with that being said which i know prolly still need toget the cabin harness so i have all 3 plugs i do not disagree with you. Do you know if the stock injectors are supposed to have a resistor box? i have the plug for the resistor box on the engine harness but i do not have the box if anyone could for sure clear that up up for me it would be great. and btw its connector a that is missing

No, the stock set up does not have a resistor box.

So pretty much im gonna have to rip that whole wire tuck out and convert it to obd1 while im at it. i dunno why you would tuck obd2 anyways. so more then likely its not running because of the cabin harness i dont have? btw before i bought stock injectors i put Rc 440cc injectors in it with obd1 piggy backs and it fired up just ran extremely rich.

i would rip the engine harness out and find a 96-98 ex harness, then use an obd2a to ob2b jumper harness if you want to use the p2t. or obd2a to obd1 jumper harness and run whatever ecu you wish.

What color is spark at the plugs - it should be bright white.

Are the plug wires installed in the correct firing order?

Do the injectors spray fuel when the engine is cranked?

OKay this is kinda odd. Its not throwing any codes at all... also the timing is correct 1,3,4,2 plus i have checked it on the crank and cams and i pulled the distributor cap whil i lined it up and made sure the button was pointing at number one i also checked that my number one piston was up at the same time. I also have 0 fuel leaks but i am getting gas my plugs are getting wet plus i can hear my walbro pumping when i turn the key on

I was also thinking i may have a flip flopped tps and map but i have switched them back and fourth and tried it with em unplugged anything i could think of. Im starting to run out of ideas besides new harness, im trying to avoid that until winter is over if i can at all because i have no garage. anyways i have tried to search google for the a detailed harness layout for obd2b but i cant seem to find one, do you happen to know of any? and thank you thus far for your ideas and input.

not sure how you're gonna get the obd1 ex harness to work since it is 2 piece and the ek harness is 1 piece.

Get an OEM harness and start from scratch. That's what I would do.

The rigged wiring can't be ignored, though you may also want to compression test the cylinders. Is it possible the cylinder walls are washed with fuel?
