Hey guys and girls I just recently bought a 98 civic ex vtec from an old friend bad off for money. The car is in good shape or I thought I changed the spark plugs and valve cover gasket and oil for him about four months ago but before I seen this car it had been sitting up for about a year and a half and now when I go to take off it will hesitate and clear up and go but if you are hard on the gas it blows out blue smoke so I drove it down the road hard on and off the gas every time blow smoke... Where should I start it has 147xxx on it. Help please and thank you

Blue smoke = oil burning

Maybe bad rings try a compression test? Especially if it feels like it has a drop in power while driving.

ok I will try that today do you know what the compression specs are?? And it only bogs down right on take off then clears up like starving for air or something

if it sat for a long time po should've sxtarted it up once in a while
