98 Civic EX - No Start
Sunday 1st day I drove the car in about a week I get about a a mile away from home and car dies. No evidence of anything wrong after about 10 min. of checking what I could w/ no tools it starts up . Drove it 15 miles or so away parked it for 3-4hrs started up drove it back home. Today my son started it and drove it around the block to park it in front of the house2 hrs later no start . I have checked the battery 12.37 check for codes P0141 for the catalytic converter which I know to be a bad connection but no other codes . Any suggestions Thanks in advance

re: 98 Civic EX - No Start
Ron J on the 96 got that figured out mea
nt to get back on and thank you So. Thank You
On this 98 the problem is intermittent . I changed the fuse because I had some it made no dif. Went out the next morning it started right up . Today no such luck ,can't really do to much right now as it has been pouring on and off all day. I am wondering if it could be a fuel pump or relay on the way out , so I am looking up ways to test them . Any techniques or ideas appreciated.

Turn key from OFF to ON(II) [engine off]. Does the cluster charging system light turn on and stay on?
Also, when the engine won't start, check for spark and fuel.

It sounds like a similar problem ron helped solve in another thread. Disconnect the primary oxygen sensor before you start the car and leave it un plugged. See if you can drive it around now without the car stalling and dying. You could have an exhaust crack before the primary oxygen sensor causing the catalyst code and giving the primary sensor incorrect temperature and air readings
