98 Civic EX: Need info on swap.

Default 98 Civic EX: Need info on swap.

My sister has a 98 civic ex automatic. its the d16y8, which is a garbage motor that blew up and i want know what i would have to do to swap in a b18b automatic. Does it bolt right up? what do i have to do. does anyone have one for sale.

You'll need 99-00 SI mounts...

well i know that i will have to use b18 axles ecu, distrib., and harness, but will 99-00 si mounts work on a b18 automatic tranny.

You can use all the B18B mounts, but you will need:

99-00 SI Driver Side Mount Bracket
99-00 Si Rear Tranny Bracket

And the top tranny mount on the B18 is different from the civics, so you wont be able to use that. When doing this swap on manuals, the stock civic mount is reused, but I dont know if the same thing can be done for a Auto - Auto. I know for a fact that the B18 Mount wont work though.

yeah i know the driver side mount needs to be off a 99-00 si, btu how bout the passenger mounts on the tranny

B18B Front Tranny Mount
99-00 Si Rear Tranny Mount

And for the top tranny mount, I dont know what you're gonna do. The B18B top tranny mount wont work for your 96-00 civic, and there's no Automatic Bseries Civic that I know of, so there's no other car to take it from.
