98 Civic EX - map lights don't work
I was trying to fit a LED bulb in my Map lights one day and it was a little too big. I heard something kind of like a crack. Ever since then my map lights don't work, my dome lights don't work, my slowest speed (interrupt) setting for my windshield wipers don't work, and the buzzer that lets me know I left my lights on does not work.
What did I break and how do I fix it!? Thank you! BTW it is a 1998 Honda Civic EX Sedan, with Keyless Entry. |

Re: 98 Civic EX - map lights don't work
Would this really effect all the other things I listed? Like the windshield wipers?

If I remember correctly they are on the same fuse. But the wiper motors on these cars are prone to failure as well

Re: 98 Civic EX - map lights don't work
Check your 7.5 dome light fuse under the hood by the battery. Replace if blown.
To repair the broken dome light assembly you can fund a new dome light unit at the junkyard, or rewire the current dome assembly to take a new bulb. They are fragile and in my last coupe I went to autozone and found a bright "square shaped" led dome light that I placed inside the dome light housing. It's on their stickers and led stuff isle |
