98 civic ex coupe shufter problems.
I jut traded my buddy my 01 civic 4 door ex for his 98 civic coupe. But here is the problem. When in any gear I can take the shifter and sway it across as if it is in neautral. Does this in every gear. Can take shifter. And bring all te way left and right as if its in neutral. But it's not in neutral. What could the problem be.

Make sure you have a trans linkage pin aka bitch pin aka PIN, SPRING (8X22) part number 90751-S04-000 $2.62 msrp. I have come across many linkages connected by a 6x1.0 bolt.
next check the condition of the u-joint section. These are difficult to repair but can be done. easiest way to correct the issue is to just buy a new bar from the dealer. for the si it is $58.60 msrp part number 54201-S04-G10. for the ex it is part number 54201-S01-L11 $186.13 msrp.
then you have the ball joint bushing. it is in the stabilizer bar. buy a new one from honda/acura. you need dust seal part number 54115-SH3-000 #13.12 msrp and what honda calls SEAT, CHANGE LEVER BALL part number 54110-SH3-003 $13.45 msrp.
Then get new shift stabilizer bushings. I like oem honda in my daily and energy in my DA.
Any and all of these will fix any issue you have with the linkage.
Good Luck.
