98 civic ex back up lights is not working.
I don't know what's wrong with the back up lights, the break lights work and also the break light on the trunk works. I open it and check it, but when I put it on revers, my back up lights doesn't come on. I check my fuels and replace them just in case they are bad, I change both of my two back up lights/bolts just to make sure, before I post this. Something is not right, please help. thanks guys

What is your car? Stick or auto?
You know you need to have someone to check for you, since you need to be in reverse to check them.
Do you have stock or aftermarket lenses?

It could be a couple things, you said you already checked fuses. The reverse light switch is on the top of the transmission and has a 2 wire plug. If you find it and jumper it and the lights still dont work you possible have a wiring issue, if they do then your reverse switch is bad.

You can buy an inexpensive test light at Walmart, though for just a little more money, you can buy a digital multimeter with many more useful functions from Harbor Freight Tools.

Check whether the Grn/Blk wire in backup light bulb socket has voltage to body ground with the key in ON(II) (engine off) and the transmission in reverse.

Re: 98 civic ex back up lights is not working.
Okay, as I was looking around my back trunk. I notice that I got a green and black wire. which is not connect and still have a clip on it. But I can't see where it would clip on to. I look all around my back trunk, took out the inside sheets liner and still couldn't fine it. I think that's is the problem, but I don't know where it would go to. All the other tail lights have a clip on to, but that one doesn't I can't fine it... :/

for the trunk lid, you need to remove the plastic cover it has a screw in the middle take off that cover and you will see where the bulbs are and where the harness connects to.
For the trunk itself, pull back the carpet on the wall behind the tail lights and look in that area.
Or just take a pic and post.

it's a 2 door, the back up light is on the trunk and it's not connected it's just hanging on the trunk, if it's open it's hanging in the middle of the trunk, it comes down on to the right side of the trunk.
