98 civic ex with a b16a2 swap - ign coil fuse 9 blows when keyed to start
just installed a t3 turbo kit on my buddies civic. its a 97 with a b16 swap. all stock. except motor and harness. it started fine before we started and once when we started it during the process. the kit is all vaccum ran. we havent even gotten gauges in. we mainly were gettin it in over the weekend so he could drive to work this week and finish the install and add a little boost later next weekend. but after we got it all in it wants to blow the ign coil fuse as soon as its keyed. everytime. we tested the coil. good. we pulled the whole harness and checked for bad wires or something we broke during install. taped it all up and reconnected. double and triple checked it all. still doin it. any ideas?

Re: 98 civic ex with a b16a2 swap - ign coil fuse 9 blows when keyed to start
Sorry to get things all confused .. I have a 98 civic ex with a b16a2 swap in it. When I go to start my car the ign coil fuse keeps blowing. I have no loose wires or open wires. It ran fine one day then go to start it the next day and this happens.. if you have any info on what this could be it would be greatly Appreciated. Thank you for your time

Unplug the distributor and then turn the key to ON(III) to crank the engine and then let the key fall back to ON(II). Did the fuse still blow?

^This proves that the short is not inside the distributor. In the distributor plug, you'll see a Blk/Yel wire that eventually turns into a red wire before reaching dash fuse 9. The short is likely in the Blk/Yel or Red wire. Carefully trace and inspect this wire for damage.

C120 is the distributor plug (see terminal 5).
C101 is the connector where the Blk/Yel wire changes to a Red wire (see terminal 10).

Visual inspection of the wires is just the starting point. There is a short (most likely in the wires I mentioned) that is blowing fuse 9. Use a multimeter to test for continuity to body ground at various locations of the wires.

Ok I found a bad spot in the wire so I fixed that and now when keyed to start the starter signal fuse #31 is blowing.

Sounds like your car is an electrical nightmare. Has somebody obviously tampered with the wiring?
Does unplugging the main relay prevent fuse 31 from blowing?

No it does not and I just went out and bought a intergrated control unit and it still don't work..I have unplugged the harness from the ECU and even the harness from under the hood. It still blows the fuse when keyed to start..

Two separate Blu/Wht wires run from dash fuse 31 to the main relay and ECU. Check the wires for any visible damage.
With the main relay, ECU, ICU, and dash fuse box unplugged, use a multimeter to check whether the Blu/Wht wires in the dash fuse box plug have continuity to body ground (short).

If you did the test as I stated, then the short is in one of the two Blu/Wht wires or in the dash fuse box itself. Where did you find the bad wire that was causing fuse 9 to blow? Might be related.

Under the dash by the firewall... is where the bad spot was. But I'm going to check the blue and white wire and see where its bad and ill get back to u. Thank u for your time man os rally helping a lot

Re: 98 civic ex with a b16a2 swap - ign coil fuse 9 blows when keyed to start
No luck. I found a brown connector up close by where you plug in the connectors to the ECU. The Brown connector has a cap on it and when i take the cap off it won't blow the fuse when keyed to start. But I get no spark. But once I plug the cap back on to the Brown connector it blows the fuse again.
