98 civic dx running like crap after rebuild
my 98 dx coupe blew a head gasket and overhead and messed some stuff up. so i got the sleeves bored and a head from another civic in a junkyard with 110k miles. also installed new oil and water pump. new gasket set. new crankshaft, bearings, rods, etc.. i drove it for a couple months. then i found a 92 cx that has a ls swap and started driving it. when i went back to driving the coupe for gas mileage reasons it drove find about 3 weeks and then one day i had it warming up cuz it was like 20 degrees outside and it started missing bad after it had warmed up. since it starts and idles fine until you rev it any past idle. so i was wondering if anyone had some ideas as to what it may be. i was possibly thinking the dizzy may need replaced. anything will help though cuz i don't really know where to start and don't have alot of money for guess work with parts.

I believe the coil in the distributor can be somewhat temperature sensitive when it starts to go. Check your timing first and try covering the holes in the opening on the throttle body to eliminate any possibility of it being the IACV. Someone else may have some better ideas.

thanks. i'll try getting a dizzy from a junkyard if i can find one. if that fixes the problem i'll post up

it's had one on since i bought the car like 5 years ago. i went to advance when it first started acting up and the obd2 tester showed random misfire codes for all 4 cylinders. but i checked the timing and the marks are dead on.
