98% done with my swap
but just two questions....
first, i have a b16a3 into an ej8 (97 ex)
i have no clue where this hose goes!!! it's from the charcoal canister.
oh, and there's an extra place where a hose goes, but i don't think the "extra place" is where the hose from the charcoal canister goes... the sizes are different.

You need to step back a bit on those pics. I know where they are, but I need to see the whole picture. Its like one of those paintings in a museum. When you see everything, it just clicks. Might help a bit for all of us.

the charcoal canister hose should go to a purge valveon the backside of the intake mani that oval sensor looking thing . the other large hose. not sure, need to know what it is coming off of.

I have a cap on my IM on my H22. The place above your intake is where I have a block-off. There's one down. And I just noticed this, but I'd connect your blow-by on the top of your valve cover to something.

in the picture you posted there is a sensor next to your master cylinder on the backside of the intake mani. should be a port on the bottom the charcoal canister. EVAP thing hose connects to that

Alright the hose with the circle and the arrow coming from the canister needs to go to the EVAP purge valve and then you need to run another line from the purge valve to a manifold vaccum source. The one on the throttle body shouldnt be used because it doesnt get vaccum all of the time. At least I know its not on the usdm vaccum diagrams.

first question lets ask how is the car running??
if its running fine and ur not throwing codes dont worry about it...
the charcoal canister is just for emissions so if thats an issue it plugs up into a sensor on the IM
and just cap the one off on ur throttle body... thats how it was on my h22 too

alrighty buddy. let me make it simple for you. Coal Canister has two pipes. Thin one goes to Evap Purge, and then continues to the little flange on your IM. the Thick one, which you circled, connects to the part on the IM that you also circled. it seems weird but that's how it goes.
Coal Canister - > Evap Purge
Coal Canister - > Directly to IM.
same on my GSR swap in an EG.

this guy just bent the nipple off and still passed smog, so i guess it's ok to plug it! (we don't have emisson testing anyway)

Re: 98% done with my swap (The Internet Tough Guy)
ok, so those lines aren't my problem anymore.... if they're for emissons i can take em out or plug em up anyway
now my problem is my car won't start after the swap
the car is turning over, i'm definitely getting fuel, the firing order is correct, the injectors i'm using are off of my dseries, so i know they're good, the motor passed compression tests when i bought it and i haven't done anything, so that should be the same. would my car turn over if i repinned my dizzy incorrectly? i've seen two different schematics on how to convert an obd1 dizzy to obd2a plugs. i guess that could be it.
