Default 97 motor in a 94?

I have a 97 civic that is totaled, but the motor is still good. I have a 94 civic with a blown head gasket. I know the 94 is OBD1 and the 97 is OBD2, but can the 97 motor be put in the 94 if the ECU's are adapted? Also, the 97 is a manual tranny and the 94 is an automatic. Can the automatic bolt on to the 97 motor? They are both SOHC D series motors. I'm just trying to salvage one driveable car out of the two.

If you get the ECU adapter its should be compatible
but I'm not sure about the tranny
run a search on it
