97 honda civic-intake manifold gas. leaking??idle surge?
i have a 97 ex with a high comp y8 in it.
car starts up idles very high above 2000rpms then after about 15 seconds starts idle surging really bad.
checked idle air and all the other sensors. everything seems good.
i sprayed some stuff on the top of the intake manifold gasket and my idle goes down like its sucking it all in.
so i replaced the gasket and nothings changed.
what do i do?
thanks

until the manifold leak is fixed you are screwed on the idle issue. take the intake mani off and clean the surface. Check it with a flat edge... like a metal ruler or something that you know is perfectly flat. Clean the head surface well also. Wouldn't hurt to check it for flatness also. Shouldn't be your head but this will just rule out any issue like that.
