97 HB with B18b1 - EVAP system fault codes P0453 and P0450

Default 97 HB with B18b1 - EVAP system fault codes P0453 and P0450

my check engine light is on for code P0453 and P0450. I've change both (new) the charcoal canister and purge solenoid. checked the gas cap. I don't know what else it could be. any help would be great.

So even after clearing the codes they come back? What kind of scan tool do you have?

Yeah I'll clean them after 40 to 50 miles they pop back on

P0453 is faulty fuel tank pressure sensor....check it and also check the wiring for it, I know it comes off the ecu. If it all checks out fine with the sensor and wiring then swap out the ecu with another known good ecu. I've had evap issues where you replace everything and still cel is on, turns out to be an internal fault on the evap control circuit within the ecu.

Yeah I was thinking it might be the ecu and I'll check that sensor to thanks

If you reset the ECU, do the codes return?

Also to if you find it to be the ecu and want to keep the ecu you have, you can always replace the transistor that controls the evap (xenocron sells them, but ONLY do this if you know how to properly solder and desolder).
