97 EK, EX door panel fabric. PLEASE HELP!
I need to replace the armrest fabric on the door panels of my 1997 Civic EK, EX. The armrest panel itself is held to the door panel with melted plastic posts, I've read about this a little bit, but haven't found a good clear explanation on how to remove the armrest panel from the door panel and be able to get it back on the correct way. I've read that you can use screws to get it back on the door panel itself, but it wasn't a clear explanation. There were no pictures or anything and it was a very brief description. I've seen pictures of many cars, the same year and model with custom fabric on the door armrests and would just like to know how it can be done the correct way. I've tried searching all over for a "how to" video, but there is not one to my knowledge. If anyone has ever done this before and has pictures, or tips, and you can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I would rather not mess up my door panel, not be able to get it back on or have the armrest panel fall off while i'm driving or something stupid like that. If there is a link or anything that somebody knows of, I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Use a dremel to grind the plastic "welds" off. Just do the wide melted part. Don't grind away the center part of it because you'll need to screw into that when you reattach the insert.
