Default 97 DX Help with Misfire and

I was driving my 97 DX (stock Y7 with bolts ons) the other night and my car started bogging a little bit for no reason, all of a sudden the CEL came on and was flashing while I was driving. I pulled over and let it sit for a few mins, started it back up and immediately the same thing. Next morning I checked things out - #3 spark plug wire and inside the cap where it connects was corroded, the connector on the plug wire was actually broke off in the cap.
So I bought a brand new set of plug wires and a cap and still have the same thing. Basically it's running on 3 cylinders - sounds kinda like an old Subaru but no CEL's while idling or giving it gas while parked. I switched the injectors to a set of almost brand new 2000 Y7 injectors thinking it might be that, then I replaced the rotor button and ignitor and still nothing... The car runs with a real bad power loss but idles where it should (no erratic idle). The motor shakes pretty bad from the miss and if you rev it a little, sometimes you can hear a backfire through the intake. There is no smoke coming out of the intake or exhaust.
All plug wires are getting spark, and I listened to the injectors and they are all cycling/clicking as they should. I'm kinda at a loss because I'm not sure what else to do. I plan to do a compression test, but aside from that I don't really know what else to try. Any ideas?

Already changed to a new set of NGK plugs, that wasn't it... but I got the problem fixed. Turns out that there was a loose connector on the magnetic pickup (at least thats what I call it) inside the distributor. Runs fine now - no misfires, smooth idle and everything.
