Default 97 DX coupe converted to 00 Si help

hey guys got a couple of issue that I need some help with...First I have a 1997 dx couple that I have changed over to 2000....why i dont know something to do I guess...anyway I've changed the dash, floor, behind the dash (ac/heater boxes as well) and engine harness. Here's my issue when I put the car in the on/accessory position the cranks (without pressing the clutch) and then when you turn it to the start position it runs but you have to leave it in the start position and have the clutch pressed in. If you let the key go it just cranks if you let off the clutch it just cranks....I know this may sound a little crazy but thats my issue so if anyone could help that would be great....btw I have a jdm b18c installed with the si harness.

thanks

AG

Check whether the ignition switch is bad:

thanks for that info I will go over that when i get home....the only thing I didn't change over was the fuse box so maybe it's mixed up or something because the car ran perfectly fine before the "conversion" Also I'm thinking it may have something to do with the distributor. I got the harness off of ebay and the distributor wires had been "depinned" so maybe that's it as well......im so close on completing this project I can taste it. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

AG

Yeah, the problem could definitely be with the wiring, but it's pretty easy to check the ignition switch in the meantime.

Ok it is def. the ignition wiring.....the diagram you gave me was great assistance...however what I'm finding is that If I swap the 7p connector wires the car now only cranks/starts in the correct position..however it as soon as you let the key go it just stops...please note I have no lights on the dash at all in the on position as if the car is now in the off/acc position....do you by chance have a 96-98 wiring diagram so I can correlate the two? One of my friends whos done way more swaps than me seems to think the fuse box wiring is different and Im pretty much playing musical chairs with the wires/plugs (pain in the a** to depin/repin) at this point but I have made progress with what you have given me and its much appreciated

The ignition switch diagram I posted is for 96-00 Civics. Did you perform all continuity tests in the diagram? Do you need something else?

Well, I've tried jumping all of the connectors and I've replace the electrical portion of the starter switch...still doing the same thing....Not sure what to do at this point.
