97 D16y7 into 99 Civic Ex Wiring Questions Please Help
in the next couples of days I’m going to be swapping out the d16y8 from my 99 civic Ex and dropping in a 97 D16y7 I picked up for 175 bucks, I got the full long block, engine harness, ecu, axels. I already know I will need to use the 99 obd2b harness on the D16y7 and i think a obd2b non-vtec ecu, but my question is do I need to re wire the Iacv or any another sensors or is everything on the harness plug and play. I already know people are gonna say. “Search” “google” but I’ve tried and only find D16y7 to d16y8. If someone could please help me out I would honestly really appreciate it and the car is Manual btw if that matters |

y7= 3 wire iacv, y8= 2. google how to change that. ecu is necessary, as will be your distributor from the y8.

i have done this before, but cant remember exactly what i did. you need to look at the ecu pinout and run the third wire out. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...olved-3117589/

Automatic EX would already be 3-wire. Could get the harnesses from an OBDIIb automatic and plug and play.
