'97 Cx without second o2 sensor stauling . . . ?
alright i put on headers today on my cx hatch. i could get that goddamn cat o2 sensor out, so i ran just the header, its o2 sensor, and no cat. so im driving and everytime i come to a complete stop, it stalls!!! its pretty much idles too low. is that normal for a cx to stall with only one o2 sensor?? thanks ahead of time!

Your 97 CX is OBD-2. It needs the two o2 sensors or it will give a code. Try checking to see what codes are being thrown by the ECU.
Did you disconnect the battery to reset the the because its gonna breathe a little easier with the header?

on my 99 cx i ran it with just one o2 sensor for a while and it ran fine, just very rich. on a 2nd note i extended the wires for the 2nd o2 sensor and it seems fine for a lil but than it throws a code. i clear the code and its ok for a lil while again but than it does the same damn thing, any ideas?

i extended the wires for the 1st o2 sensor so maybe thats the problem, maybe they're wired wrong. im pretty sure i did them right though. its a brand new o2 sensor too!!! but dude, even with that cel, this ****** hauls some booty, for a y7 at least. how do people with no cat run 2 o2 sensors?

has anyone here tried an o2 sensor simulator? if so, are you happy with how it wrks? is it difficult to install? they are alot cheaper than a real o2 sensor.

i am about to do this same thing...i was gonna look for a 99-00 ex cat because i THINK that cat has an o2 bung right on it. 97civhatch, what header are you running? i have a dc and it came with the wire extender...hopefully it will work.

good price man...no flames here. so you did notice low end increases? that is promising...hope i feel the same thing. do you plan on using a cat in the future and if so what do you think you are gonna use?

in an old issue of sport compact car, where they tested several headers on a gsr, the pacesetter actually lost some mid to highend power, a couple horses and a couple ft. lbs of torque. not major, but it did lose power from a header. so did you feel like you gained any top end? btw, why can't you get the o2 out? is it rusted on there, try heating it up and then taking it out. oh, don't you need an ex cat also?

Re: '97 Cx with i/h/e stauling . . . ? (tominos)
i just bought an o2 sensor socket. its a really deep socket with a slit down the middle(haha) so the wires can get through undamaged. i put a cheater bar on there and it came right off. as for the top-end question, i cant tell, so i geuss not. i got a lot of mid to low-end though.
