Alright, it's getting time for the big swap. I have a 97 Civic EX and I have pretty much narrowed it down to one of two engines.

Option 1 - B18b/LS with a custom small turbo setup 6 or 7 psi max.

Option 2 - B20 w/a different crankshaft, possibly B17A (rarity is a problem, but I won't be swapping for 3 or so more months, so I think I can find one in that time frame).

The reason I'm going for these swaps is because they are both pretty cheap. Money is a big big factor in this one, so that's why I'm sort of teetering on just dropping the B20 since I know that crankshaft issue is going to be a headache.

All my friends say that the B20 just isn't worth it, and I know the rod/stroke on it is not all that great. So I'm leaning toward the B18b with a small turbo.

Anyone want to confirm my idea?

go with a b16, or a c1 you can get both of them for cheap these days, just gotta look around. Plus more bang for your buck, **** the k series go with the tried and true B, **** that single intake v-tec cam in a dohc!
