Default 97 civic - Idle surging

I replace the coach but my idle surges from 1000 to 2000 rpm. Its a d16y7 with a y8 head swap poorly done to it before I owned the car. What can fix my idle?

From what Civic year/engine was the intake manifold obtained?

CEL codes?

Did you clean the IACV?

auto or manual? if manual, it needed a 3-2 wire iacv conversion. verify year of intake manifold like ron said, 99-00 a/t will ruin your day.

Idk how I would find that out car was done before me no contact to the guy but its 5 speed. There's a hose that's on the iacv that is capped off I need to figure where it goes I think it's the hose on the right side when you standing in front of the car and the iacv is hooked up still.

Bad swap job.
First pic, one hose(bottom) to pcv under intake manifold.
Top hose goes to evap purge solenoid, which look like it was left out on purpose. That black box with 2 ports coming out of it. Directly in front of throttle cable bracket.. Top hose go in one side. Out the other side a hose to you evap tank. Below battery, to the right of it..

The your iacv hose, that's where coolant line from the small port on intake manifold, below throttle body, goes to. Then the other iacv hose which seem already connected, goes to the port under intake manifold..

There are pictures floating somewhere. Maybe Ron can post it for you.
