Default 97 civic idle problem

97 civic ex
d16y7/y8 minime
y8 auto trans

ive looked around and read alot about a Fast Idle Thermo Valve and ive also read a y8 doesnt have one.

ive changed my iacv and flushed all my coolant and put new coolant in but still once it warms up and its in park or neutral its idles up and down from 1000 to 2000 and back and forth. while in D4 not moving it stays at 1100. i have no idea whats left to check

Is the Check Engine Light ON?

You may need to bleed the cooling system, or you have an intake air or vacuum leak.

ive got a simialar problem, mine used to go up and down but only when it was cold, then it started doing it all the time and i got tps code so i changed my tps and now it idles at like 4500-5000 at start up and goes down after a few mins to about 2500 and i cannot figure out what the hell it is ive got other codes. one is 21 vtec valve sylnoid, i think i have 7 witch is tps, 1 and 2 wich r o2 sensors and i think the other one is 12 but i dont know if its 12 or 1 and 2, i have no 02's hooked up cuz my header doesnt have the ports yet so im figureing its 1 and 2, and my car is a 91 hatch and i dont think it had an egr system
