97 civic ex - really hard to start cold
hey guys i have a 97 civic ex thats really hard to start cold but once it turns over its fine. Not really sure what the problem is im getting spark and im getting gas just dont know why its hard to start when sitting overnight. I checked the resistance of the ignition coil and across the primary connections and it came back with a 1.3 ohms which is out of the specs my book provides. Do you think this could be the problem

Does spark also look weak (yellow, orange, or deep blue as opposed to bright white)?

Re: 97 civic ex - really hard to start cold
i bought a variable spark plug tester that measures volts coming out of the spark plug wire just dont know how many volts should be coming out of the wires so i can tell if its a weak spark

The fact that you included orange in your spark description suggests weak spark. Replace the coil and go from there.

Don't instructions come with your spark tester? |
Re: 97 civic ex - really hard to start cold
yes instructions do come with it but domestic vehicles are only listed besides the one that states volts for conventional fuel injected engine and i cant find anywhere in my book it states voltage from spark plug wires
