97 Civic DX question...
Just want to know if anyone has any thoughts about a Civic I bought that has a D16Y7 engine in it (or at least this is what is stamped on the block). I found that this engine is rated at 106hp, but it surprised me on how fast this car will get up and go like it's nothing. Even my wifes (2006 Dodge stratus, 2.4L with intake, exhaust performance upgrades) can hardly keep up with my civic. I found this really weird or someone has done something to this civics engine. Anyone know what could have been done to it, since it looks pretty stock.
BTW here is a link to my civic at cardomain.

and yes I'm a n00b to Honda's.

Coming from having real performance cars, I got into my GSR swapped Civic for the first time and was like?
WTF....
this thing is a turd...
low 14's just isn't enough when you're used to 12's and faster.

hmm... well I basically just bought this car for a daily driver, but I think I might just go ahead and put some bolt-ons on it and leave it at that. My weekend driver is a Z28, and this car can't keep up with it. But I am impressed with how well it drives. Later down the road I might have to get me a better civic with a B engine. But for now this will do.

I agree that it's pretty impressive what these cars can do with 106 horsepower. It isn't like they put your head back in the seat, but they perform pretty well with what they got.

I sure has surprised me. Yep oklahoma "race-scene" isn't like in other states I've been in. heck even awhile I was station in arkansas they had "littlerock racing scene"... here on the other hand, I've ran into guys at thunder valley, but that was about it... mostly just groups of friend. O' well maybe that'll change one of these days.

Just noticed in your sig. line that you did a Intake swap, I'm looking at doing the same, but can I reuse the throttlebody that currently is on the car or do I need to order another (ie 68mm)?

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can't reuse the y7 throttle body and I heard people use b16 tb's? not really sure on this one, bump for someone more intelligent
