Default 97 Civic DX manual/d16y8 with D16Y7 IM - Vacuum/Coolant Hose

I can't figure out where this vacuum hose goes. It is coming from a port right next to where the other end of the PCV goes in underneath the intake manifold.

Also on the IAC there are supposed to be 2 coolant hoses I believe and I only have one. It is coming from a port on the thermostat. Where does the other one come from?

I assume you meant D16Y7. What car?

Can you post better pics? The current ones are...well...crappy.

Yeah d16y7, Ill try to get better pictures. The hose is coming from a port directly under the IAC, there are 2 there and the other one leads to the PCV. And the other one I believe is the coolant return for the IAC and I think it is supposed to go on a pipe on the back of the block but I don't see anywhere to hook it up. If it matters I swapped in a d16y8 head and block, but the intake is still from the y7.

The parts diagrams on a site like hondaautomotiveparts show where the hoses go. There are some differences in the coolant pipe across the back of the engine between different models.

What ECU and TB? The manual D16Y8 expects a 2-wire IACV. The D16Y7 has a 3-wire IACV.

Better pics?

I am using the y8 ECU and the y7 TB. Everything seemed to plug in right though. I have a d16z6 intake if that would work?

EDIT: I should mention I am running y8 injectors as well.

Ill try to get better pics ASAP thank you very much

Y8 auto or manual ECU? Manual = 2-wire; Auto = 3-wire

You need to do the IACV 3-wire to 2-wire conversion. Check the FAQs stickies at the top.

What trim?

Do you have the service manual? Answers to your questions are on pages 10-3 and 11-16 or 11-17. Alternatively, take mk378's advice.

I can't find it in the service manual I looked at the pages you suggested but it isn't pictured

It is the hose directly at the top of the PCV valve. That's the one where I can't figure out where it goes. I did the IACV swap and wired up the knock sensor and vtec stuff and my cel went away just need to figure out where this hose goes.

You have the correct manual.

The diagram above shows the vacuum hoses. Is your specific trim and year listed at the top of the page? If not, it's the other chapter 11 page I listed.

Page 10-3 (chapter 10, page 3) shows the coolant hoses.

Look at page 11-266 for the PCV valve and hose connections.

Ok I got these they are correct but I still don't see it. You can see clearly in the picture in my previous post that there are 2 barb fittings, one went to the PCV and the other I'm not sure. The coolant hose seems to be behind the block on that black pipe, I can't see it but I think if I take the fuel rail off I will be able to so I should have that one covered. Thank you very much for you help

You didn't find the other half of page 11-266 informative?

Also click this link and enter your VIN:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

Look at diagrams for your PCV and hoses. Keep in mind that you have a Frankenstein Y8/Y7 engine.
