97 Civic DX
Proud new owner of..
Anywho, from what I can gather I have a D16, 110HP engine? Completely virgin car itself. I'm thinking I should prolly upgrade the suspension first, then tires & rims. What would you guys recommend?
Leave me comments on the car!

Re: 97 Civic DX (C2daIzZle)
first off congrats, as for the pic it belongs in the A/C forum.
you need to look at your goal for the car. look through this forum and you will see what others have done to their car. but suspension and rolling stock would be a good place to start.

I think I was looking at that car online, Are you near Rockford or Chicago? Did they have more hondas? Nice pickup looks clean, yeah start with the handling. Try going to cardomain.com and see what other people have done. It will give you an idea on what you like and more or less show you whats out there ya know?

Re: 97 Civic DX (turner7205)
I have the same car in white. Since the motor is slow, but dependable...I'd go with suspension work first. I have Ground Control sleeves, Si strut bar, generic rear strut bar and a 19mm Progress rear sway bar. The rear sway made the car WAYYYY more fun to drive! You will see a minor improvement from a short ram and axleback exhaust, but mostly makes the car sound better. Let me know if you have any questions about the car.

Re: (undertheradar)
if its going to be some time before you can have some real money to change things up you should pick up some suspension, like some aftermarket springs(or coilovers) and struts, or if yyou want to do it nice the first time get some 1 piece coilovers
pick up some 99 00 ex hubcaps so atleast the car will look decently clean
and remove that dam pinstripe

Re: (DeMen7ed)
cold air intake. cheap, effective, and looks nice in the engine. plus, you lose 2 pounds of plastic, and that's gotta shave 2 seconds off the 1/4 mile...lol.
nice car.
nice car.

OK, that sounds good, but if I am not mistaken, DX's have verticaly positioned throttle body and that would make installation of CAI a bit harder...
Is there any kit that solves this problem or should DX owners pay someone to make custom intake pipe???

Once you have the intake, get a cat-back exhaust for your second upgrade. You can find a lot of selections from TunerMarket.com
