Default 97 Civic Coupe power window problem

So this is not a problem where the window gets off track halfway down or whatever. It rolls up and down perfectly fine but when im rolling up and i get about an inch from the top, it keeps sliding down then pushing it back up, and the motor makes a loud noise and will never stop. When i manually pull the window all the way up to the top it slides back down again.

Could it have just fallen off the track?

It slid off the track, this happened to mine last week. Just take off the door panel and fix it.

Broken teeth on the mechanism, mine is doing the same, makes a clunking noise at the top. New regulator as stated above :D

Well, my 97 is doing EXACTLY as this thread describes. I spent a good hour adjusting the tracks, and getting pissed why I couldn't get it working. Now I know that clicking sound when the window is an inch from the top is the regulator. Thanks guys.

This is what I need for a 2 door 97 civic EX, correct: http://www.amazon.com/WINDOW-REGULAT.../dp/B000E4SR20
