97 civic with b16a2 with gsr distributor issue

Default 97 civic with b16a2 with gsr distributor issue

hey guys i tried to search this issue but found nothing but I am having a issue setting ignition timing on my b16 i am using a odb2a gsr distributor stock odb2b si ecu "p2t" honda recommends 16 + or - 2 degrees ... well the highest i was able to adjust to is 14 degrees and will not adjust any higher i am starting to think it is because i am using a gsr distributor???? help!?????

nope shouldnt have any problems, tho you need to jump a wire to set timing cant remember which one tho.

You need to jump the service connector while doing it. You need to set it to 16 degrees btdc

if your mechanical timing is correct, there should be no reason you can't adjust correctly. are you using the timing light correctly? i am assuming you are using a digital one since you said 14 degrees. are you using the lone white mark?
