97 civic auto to 5spd wont start with 5spd ECU
it'll start with the automatic ecu but just cranks when i plug in the 5spd ECU.
What could be the problem? any opinions and suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you went obd2a to obd2b then you're gonna have to get an a to b or b to a conversion harness.
Example:
If you're running a D16y7 from a 1997 civic (non vtec) and a D16y8 motor from a 1999 civic (sohc vtec) then you are going to need a conversion harness to make a 1999 civic d16y8 ecu work perfectly -- or just get a 97 5 speed d16y8 ecu.
1999 is OBD2b
1996-1998 is OBD2a
Example:
