97 Civic AC Problem

97 Civic AC Problem
So I have a 97 Civic and I just got my ac refilled. But the air isn't getting cold. I manually gave the compressor (I believe it's the compressor) power from the battery and the AC started to get cold. All the fuses are fine and the AC thermostat seems to be fine.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any suggestions on what it could be? I have found other threads about the problem but no one has seemed to offer a solution yet. Any help on this topic would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 97 Civic AC Problem
Try testing or replacing the AC switch (the one that is in the top of the receiver/dryer). I had a similar problem years ago in a non Honda and that was the problem. Worth a shot. Since the AC seems to work when you give the compressor power from the battery, it could also be the AC clutch relay. Those are cheap to replace, it's in the fuse box under the hood near the battery.
