built turbo em1......need advice
ok so my bro has an em1 with the original b16a2 he got it fully built except for the sleeves for turbo and has a precision 57 trim billet turbo with supertech valvetrain. All he needs are cams but we were wondering which would be the best cams for his setup. He would like to break the 400hp mark but we're not sure if he will hit that on pump gas. any advice or suggestions would be great and also we are looking for a good tuning place around michigan for his hondata once he gets his cams. Also he was wondering what 1/4 times he would be looking at with slicks ..... thanks and really need advice

Stay away from skunk, dont know much about crower on b series.. I ve saw stock gsr heads do over you horsepower goal though, so GSR cams may not be a bad idea.

lol damn i believe you now and thanks he got his car built last year and hes been bullshitting for too long so gsr cams it is hopefully he gets 400 on pump gas im trying to convince him to get c16 to make sure he gets the 400 and thanks for the help and 2lem1 what do you have on your car it looks nice....... i have a mr em1 and my brothers is ebp em1 so we have a rivalry going on lol hopefully i can boost my car by the end of the year but what do you suggest keep the b16 block or get the ls block for more torque which i wanted to do and im building either block i get by the way i just cant choose

IF the car is built, with the right setup, you can make 400whp easy on the GSR cams, hell, he could probably do it on the b16 cams
A guy I know is making 700+ on a gsr, stock cams.
For 400hp, there is no reason to switch c16, keep it on pump.

Indeed.
I don't know who told you that 400whp needed race gas/E85, but that power level has been achieved MANY times on pump gas (and with similar modifications to those you listed).
As grumblemarc suggested earlier, you might want to check out the forced induction forums and read up. There's a lot of good info there.

Agreed, the last set of crower turbo cams we did, the exhaust cam snapped in 2 spots, destroying the cam journals in the head. when we approached them for a reason, all we got was it must have been a bad cast, and your out of warranty. gsr/itr cams all the way.

I had a EM1 with a built LS/VTEC and it was a lot of fun, but I ended up floating a valve in it. The torque was great though and the car was really fast. I personally say do it, but save your b16 in case you ever want to sell the car.
I just bought this black one last weekend, it's pretty stock atm...I have a bunch of plans for it... but if I told you, I'd have to kill you.
There's a reason Brian and Bruce had a falling out and Brian does his own thing now. I wouldn't group all Crower products together, Bruce's cams are 10 times better than Brian's. Brian just copied Junk2 and had some cheap Taiwanese cams made with similar specs. That stuff IS garbage.
