96LX 4DR 5MT Input Shaft Bearing Installation Question
I am replacing the input shaft bearing on my 1996LX 5spd transmission, and I had a question on which way it is supposed to be installed.
As taken from BauleyCivic's FAQ on the inspection and installation of the input shaft bearing came this picture:
Now what confuses me is that I *think* that when I opened the transmission up that my input shaft bearing was the opposite of how Bauley has his installed. I think mine was upside-down when looking at the above picture.
I looked in my Helms, and they don't have any diffinitive picture or tell you which way it should be installed. Maybe it's simple knowledge that it should only go one way, but I'm confused and don't want to put it in one way to find out that was the wrong way.
So should I install the input shaft bearing like the above picture, or should I flip it over?
Thanks

Re: 96LX 4DR 5MT Input Shaft Bearing Installation Question (Redline96LX)
I cant find the thread, but I remember someone asking Bauley about this and he said that the two ISB that he has replaced they both went in like he has them and everything worked out. You prly already have but if you havent go ahead and PM him, he wont bite.

I'm away at school, but the ISB came in from Honda and my dad said that the bearing is the same on both sides. I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing it looks like the bearing on the left in that picture.
If it is the bearing on the left, I'm guessing it doesn't matter which way it is installed?
Thanks everyone.
