I honestly dont think there is really any diagram on how to do it. Iam sure you can get a helms manual and it will help you some.

changing pistons is somewhat of a big project. if youve never done something like this before and dont have a knowledgeable friend that will hep you for some free taco bell and a few beers i wouldnt suggest doing it yourself. but if you really want to try i say do a LOT of reading and research first.

agreed to what the people said above.it is not an easy job and it is time consuming. u almost tear down the whole engine to do the job and while doing the jpistons swap. u might as well as replace all the gaskets and o rings, timing belt and water pump.

helms/Haynes
Whichever you can get your hands on. i really like my Haynes. However I've never seen a helms so I don't have a point of cross-reference.

why are you needing to change pistons? Are you upgrading? Or just OEM replacement? If it's for OEM I'd recommend just purchasing a shortblock instead. But if you really want to change out pistons then here's a link that should help you:

Follow that link. Its basically what you'll have to do except for the part about aftermarket pistons obviously.

Buy a short block. They're cheap...if one piston is bad, chances are there are other things wrong with the motor. What about cylinder wall wear? What if a sleeve is stretched? Is the piston broken? How is it bad? A piston going bad is usually caused by something violent.
Buy the short block. B16A short blocks can be had for like $600-800 now a days.

Amen, if you're buying a car with a messed up piston, and not just repairing the one you have: Buy a new shortblock.
Better YET!! Buy one with higher displacement, get a b18c/c5 block to go along with it. You'll be glad you did.

i am for a new short block too. if anything were to happen to my b16a2 i would gladly replace the long block with that of a b18c(whatever) and make some $ on the head.

Re: (thisisntjared)
as said before, read, read, and read some more. h-t is a great source of info, as well as, other websites, auto manuals, a honda dealership can print you a diagram of any part of your car you ask for, for free. also go to borders and check out some books on building engines. both general and honda specific. all the info you need is out there you just have to find it. anyone can do this themselves if theyre patient and take theyre time. and if it needs one just do them all. its already apart and if ones bad im willing to bet the other three took a beating as well.

You should only have to switch the accesories and manifolds over.
