Default 96 hatch with 98 dx motor

hey guys, i purchased a 96 hatch shell and got a 98 dx motor from a friend but no harness or ecu... my question is what years harness and ecu can i use and do any need any modification to plug in correctly. thanks alot

96-00(civci???? i am assuming) harness and ecu for a dx motor with your transmission (at or manual) should work.............

96-98 DX harness. There were some minor changes in 99 that you may not want to deal with. Any DX ECU should work fine.

i had no idea that there was a diff... maybe this is when they changed from OBD2 to OBD2b or something??

Yes...96-98 is OBD2a and 99-00 is OBD2b. I also believe the OP will have to use a 96-98 ECU along with the 96-98 harness.
