Been noticing more and more lately when I shift I get a noticable mechincal chunk type sound. I just switched my tranny fluid to gm friction modified syncromesh. It does it especially in second gear and has been doin it even before i used the new tranny fluid.

going by the year of the transmission, should I be assuming that its just on its way out and needs a rebuild?
