96 EX died while driving, starter wont engage?
Hi all, i had to swap vehicles for a few days with someone and got a call today that my car(1996 civic EX, manual transmission) died while driving (accessories still worked) and wouldn't restart. I get there and tried jumping it with no luck, i was able to bump start it and runs fine. Took it home and charged battery but no change, starter wont engage???
Never heard of a starter causing a car to lose power before, but it appears to be the starter, I tapped on the starter and got a couple clicks out of it but it never turned the engine over.
Any other suggestions?

Have the battery tested as it may be bad.
Also clean and tighten the G1 battery and G3 transmission ground connections.
If the battery and grounds are fine, but starter still will not crank with key, check whether running wires directly from the (+) battery post to the starter motor and solenoid cranks the engine.
