96 Ek hatchback window problems
I just got a 96 civic DX 3 door, and I am in the process of restoring it. The crank windows are really jacked up, and I think that I am going to have to replace the whole crank window assembly. My question is, has any one tried to order OEM parts from any websites? If so do the parts acutally come as described? Thanks in advance.

I'd also go with majestic, it has great prices. What they'll give you is just a basic diagram of components of the car it's usually pretty easy to figure out what you need.

Re: (NOFX)
It may not be necessary to replace any parts on your windows. I have a 97 EK and when I got it the drivers side window wouldn't roll up - the glass kept getting misaligned out of the regulator. I believe this is a known problem for 96-98 Civics because I remember reading a Honda TSB about them. My local stealership wanted to replace the regulator and weather stripping for big bucks when I had it in there for emmissions warranty work. Instead I took the regulator out of the door and found that the gears and other joints were binding and not lubed well. I lubed them up with white grease and reinstalled it properly according to the Helms procedure (they need to be balanced properly - easy to do). Well my window's been cranking up and down with no problems for 5 years now.

I've seen cars where the glass has popped out and when you remove the regulator it's bent at a 5-10% angle.
If it's just gotten difficult to roll up but the glass hasn't popped out, you can probably get away with just lubing everything up.
