96 dx, swapped a 98 ex motor.
The motor that we just swapped was an automatic. we swapped it into a manual hatch... and the wiring and **** is KILLIN US.
What do we do for wiring? Everyone says to use the dx wiring harness and run vtec seperate... um.... HELP.
Thanks

Re: 96 dx, swapped a 98 ex motor. (TruSlydHatch)
ok...i see only one problem here, the wiring can be worked out which i'll detail in a second. The problem is automatic y8's have a 3-wire, throttle-body mounted IACV like the y7. I am assuming you are swapping in a manual EX p2p (y8) ecu. That ECU WILL not control the 3-wire IACV on your automatic motor.
Assuming you are using a manual y8 ecu...you need to do the following wire fixes if you keep the y7 harness-
1. You need to do the IACV wire pin swap detailed below- (also, you need to add a two pin IACV plug to the end of the wires you swapped)
2. Doing the pin swap detailed above will leave one wire useless...swap that pin into the spot that the y8 ecu calls for the knock sensor...add a KS plug (which is actually a 2 pin plug, but for the KS you only need one of the pins. This plug is used for tons of stuff in a honda harness, meaning you can find it easily if you have any junk harnesses laying around)
3. You need to get some obd2 pins and pin the ecu connectors and run vtec wires for activation and pressure sensor
