96 D16y8 swap with 00 d16y8
So i have a 2000 Civic EX auto with a blown motor. I have another motor out of a 96 EX manual. What will i need to swap the engine over? I know the 2000 uses obd2b and the 96 uses obd2a. But i'm still not 100% sure what i will need to swap over with the engine. Then there is the 96 manual engine being swapped over to the automatic.
Thanks in advance for the help.

It's easier to go from stick to auto. U gotta do the pedal swap,obd2b to a harness, all the linkage and firewall changes as well as the center console. It's an in depth process so be prepared for headache.

Swap over your intake and exhaust manifolds. Also swap over your distributor. For the intake manifold make sure you use a 99-00 gasket not a 96-98. The rest will plug and play.

So just need to swap over the 00 intake manifold and exhaust manifold along with the distributor to the engine out of the 96. So i can use the 2000 ECU and harness with no problem?

Re: 96 D16y8 swap with 00 d16y8
something i ran into swapping a 98 d16y8 into 99 civic ex is the obd2b engine harness 02 sensor connector is a male plug while the 02 sensor in the 98 header also has a male plug end, need to get obd2b 02 sensor, but you would have one to use on your original header
