Default 96 civic blowing alternator fuse

I have a 96 civic and the alternator fuse keeps blowing. I can put another fuse in and drive maybe 5 miles and it blows again. The alternator is charging just fine. I pulled the harness out and checked for any splits, melted, or cut wires and everything is fine. The car has a ls swap in it and I went threw the harness over a year ago so I figured it would be fine. I changed the speed senor and o2 sensor because I have read they were on the same circuit. It hasnt changed anything. Then I disabled the o2 heater and eld on my chipped ecu and still same thing. Is there any other components linked to this fuse that I should check that are not on the engine harness? I feel as if im running out of options lol. Any help would be appreciated thanks

I know this may sound stupid, but are you sure you are putting in the correctly-rated fuse for the alternator?

Has any work been done recently on the vehicle? How long ago was the swap put in and how long ago did this start happening?

Any CELs?

have you had the alternator tested to see if it's not an internal fault in the regulator?

I have been putting a 7.5 in it and thats what i pulled out. I have had the swap in for over a year. I just recently took a long trip which I have done many times and on the way back turning on to my road the lights went dim and the speedo stopped working and I keep having this problem. This morning I took the drivers seat out and got under the dash and checked every wire I could find and everything looked fine. I go to start it up and now it blows the fuses on start up. And I have already swapped the voltage regulator. I just dont know what is on the curcuit that would cause it to blow.

This often caused by a short in one of the O2 sensor heater wires. Check them carefully.

it sounds like the oxygen sensor is heating up and then shorting out, could be an internal short in the heater, do you have a spare 02 sensor you could swap for each, just to see what happens?

Now when I press the clutch in the battery light comes on but the alternator is charging and the thing is that the car is used to be an auto so it doesnt have anything electric going to the pedal or anything to do with the clutch pedal

I pushed the clutch in with my hands while watching everything and i saw that the whole assembly was flexing. I go to take it out and start by removing the 2 bolts for the clutch master and the whole assembly came right out. Turns out I was missing the top bolt that gives it most of it strength and it was flexing and touching the under dash harness. Put it all together with the top bolt and she seems to be fine. No lights or blown fuses
