96 civic b20b lost power
96 civic lx
b20b swap last week
gsr tranny
problem: wont revv over 5k at stop and 4k while rolling
no cel, bulb is good.
ground on motor tranny and thermostat
sensors are all good and plugged in.
p75 ecu stock (has been reset with cables and fuse methods)
changed oil,dizzy,cap,plugs,rotor,wires
fuel filter replaced last year
changed injector and regulator. fuel pressure test was 35 and 45 with hose off regulator.
going to install walbro tomorrow
car ran fine for 2 weeks on a chipped ecu and the day i got my p75 it cut out on the highway. only negative i can see is dented 4-1 header.
could this cause a low rev and this much power loss?

You prolly have a basemap for a B20 vtec. You wouldn't be getting a code for vtec cause the B20B is non-vtec. The ECU will go into limp mode and won't rev past 3k-4k rpms if the vtec switch is bad or in your case....not there.

Better double check that basemap. You might also want to either install a cat or O2 sensor or have the basemap delete them altogether. Don't understand why you wouldn't do that in the first place.

ok thanks guys hopefully i am on the right track. as for the o2 and deleting, the exhaust set up is a temp solution because my stock exhaust wouldnt bolt up to the header and my buddy had some custom shop exhaust to get me by and it didnt allow for a cat (welded pipe no bung)

Re: 96 civic b20b lost power
Code is 41 on the poor man CEL, which is oxygen primary. Putting that in tomorrow, but still doesn't make sense why it won't rev any higher. Throttle cable is 100% working. No other check engine lights. obd1 p75.
the jumper harness was used, could there be a chance it is poor quality?
no part of the harness is trapped/grounded/shorted.
Should I add more grounds to the car? I have the one off the headlight to block and tranny to frame rail. Maybe I'll add more to check.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, is there any chance I have a valve problem and my motor can be on its way out?

Did you swap distributors? Find someone with the same distributor and swap, get timing light gun and adjust properly per manual. Make sure no wires are mix, tps and map. Make sure you're iat is in the correct spot, either on the intake manifold or the airbox arm, and that the plug is in the correct spot. I accidentally plug my power steering plug into the iat on the intake manifold and realized that its not suppose to go there. My car is obd2 so it goes on the intake arm.

Re: 96 civic b20b lost power
went through all grounds, looked good. went through all connections and they look good besides the primary o2 sensor which im still waiting on. injector color order should be correct as i searched for the order while swapping to make sure. i work doubles the next 2 days but going to try and do a fuel pressure test, then do the dizzy swap. fuel filter has 8k miles on it max, injectors were out of an old y8. car drove for a week until this incident.

Re: 96 civic b20b lost power
it may be a bad map sensor. i disconected mine and ran it down the street for about 15 minutes and i had alot more throttle response. then i reconnected it and it laged on me again so waiting on a new map to see if that fixes it.

well i can be driving down the road and all of the sudden i loose all power no throtle. then when i let go of throtle and hit it again it get power but hesitates. then cel comes on. and then car runs fine but lags on power. i been doing some searching and led me to think is the tps or the map sensor?
