to put the 99 front on your 97 you need the 2 fenders, hood, headlights, grill, and bumper. And it will bolt on.

go search for 99-00 conversion.. you'll get more than enough information
btw.. all parts bolt on.. the grill might need slight modification.. but the conversion should be nothing more than lego..

96-98-

99-00

As you can see the 99-00 is better, hands down.

And you dont NEED the 99-00 radiator support, but if you dont use it 2 of the plastic bolts wont line up, and you will have a hella big gap between your hood and bumper.

those pics dont do justice.. the 96-98 front has paint chips and dull color and no lip.. while the 99-00 front end has shiny paint and lip..
imo.. the 96-98 front with ctr lip looks good too..
well.. appearance really is a person-to-person thing.. you might like something others hate and vice versa..

I totally agree with yeung - 96-98 looks better IMO. It's got 'cleaner lines' with the larger mouth in the bumper. The 99-00 seems 'older and heavier' and the front looks a bit 'busy' with those extras vents.

Car manufacturers, in most cases, have made each newer model look older and heavier IMO - just look at the VW Golf/Rabbit GTi. The MkI was THE original GTi! Then it got fatter and slower and then fatter and slower thru the years!

Apart from the new Civic TypeR (drool) all the other models are SLOW and heavy by comparison.

Did you just say, the EK9 is 'slow and heavy' compared to the EP3?

IMO I think the 99-00 has more of the sporty look from a side view, once you slap either a Type R, Si or Mugen lip, and the rear lip and the Wing, you got urself a nice lookin Ek.

if i can find a pic of my coupe, i'd show you that there is not a huge gap between the hood and front bumper. and i didn't use oem honda parts, all aftermarket replacements.

also, to make the 99-00 front bumper fit, you will need to cutout two small notches on the inner side of the bumper to fit the 96-98 core support. it's not visible from the outside though.

You dont have to do that if you use the 99-00 Radiator support.

Using the rad. support will save you alot of time in the long run.
