No. they are completely different. the 96 is more of a square and the 92 is more of a rectangle. I have a 99-00 civic si shift boot on my car, i just took it off the ring that it came with and put it on the ring that was stock in my car.

I'm bringing this back from the dead for good reason. I have a 99-00 Civic Si **** but stock 92-95 boot. I have the silver chrome plastic clip for the 99-00 Si ****. I was wondering if I can some how get the **** to clip into my stock boot or do I need the 99-00 Civic Si boot?

Yes...take the stock black clip off of the 92 boot...you'll see its being held on with a rubber band. Put on the Si chrome clip, secure it with the rubber band, and you're set to go.
